Experience

• Provide strategic counsel (for startups and established organizations facing novel opportunities and challenges); comprehensive writing and editorial services (including but not limited to press materials, key messages, white papers, web and print copy); and consultation on emerging media.

• Produced press materials and other key documents for international pharmaceutical clients, with a focus on oncology; managed and mentored junior writers/editors; managed monthly advertorial program with international science journal Nature.

• Managed editorial content for award-winning cancer center website for consumer and professional audiences (www.mskcc.org).
• Liaison with internal and external stakeholders to produce web content in cancer treatment and research. These groups included: Disease Management Teams; Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Principal Investigators (to produce and maintain an online database of more than 250 active clinical trials); Direct Mail Fundraising Department (to facilitate medical-scientific review of direct-mail fundraising materials); Government agencies including the National Cancer Institute, Cancer Information Service, and National Library of Medicine (to adopt Cancer.gov and MEDLINE resources).
  

• Worked with leading medical authorities to develop approximately 30 chapters a year for this continuously updated, comprehensive textbook of internal medicine on the web, on CD-ROM, and in print; edit Scientific American Medicine Bulletin, a monthly e-newsletter highlighting news of interest to practicing clinicians; provided editorial and writing support for marketing, direct mail, and licensing initiatives; participated in sale and transition of assets to WebMD.

• Developed and maintained organization's website (www.uhfnyc.org); managed varied publications program (12-15 titles a year, including books, monographs, conference proceedings, statistical publications, newsletters, promotional brochures, and online products) in consultation with research and policy staff, grantees, and volunteers; contracted and managed writers, designers, photographers, and printers.

• Edited international pharmaceutical marketing materials, including product monographs and scripts for videotape and interactive CD-ROM, in close consultation with marketing staff and medical-legal review team.

• Wrote and edited educational and promotional materials for agency's pharmaceutical division in consultation with in-house account staff and corporate clients.

• Managed publication of multicontributor medical books, working with physician authors and an in-house medical board; established editorial and production processes for this startup division, publishing 12 books in the first year.
